During this time we'll be allowing attendees to register for WOOF '08 up on the 3rd floor while enjoying some food and munchies while down on the 1st floor, folks can hang out with regular crowd as well.

Saturday

Saturday's Kenny-Woof Day Trip: Ahhh Kennywood - it's been around since 1898; that's 110 years! It's also one of the best locally well-known amusement parks in this region of the nation. Kennywood is home to 4 classic style roller coasters, 2 indoor dark-ride style coaster, 3 water rides (one of which the Burgh Bears broke a few years ago - HONEST!), 10 thrill rides, 11 classic rides, entertaining shows, and with more than 30 refreshment stands, snack carts, and the relaxing Parkside Cafe to snack at while we're there. Now, this year we're re-converging to run amuck on the ALWAYS FUN grounds of Kennywood. Don't forget to leave room for funnel cakes, Potato Patch Fries, Dip 'n Dots and Deep Fried Oreos-YUMMM! So join us for thrills, rides and laughs to last a lifetime at Kenny-woof! Even better is this year's newest attraction, an indoor dark ride called Ghostwood Estates. Here the challenge for Kennywood guests is in helping Lord Ghostwood to eliminate the unwanted spirits. He'll provide the buggy (with seating for four) and a blaster for each guest. In a competition of sorts, guests will blast away at the ghosts and spirits, eliminating as many as possible. Just one more detail: there are no tracks for the vehicles. Nor are there steering wheels. They will be guided entirely by Lord Ghostwood's spirit. Do we trust him? Time will tell.

Saturday's Pool Social and Bear Bar Night: After enjoying the fun and rides at Kennywood, back at our host hotel where we will spend some time at the indoor pool and hot tub. Afterwards, we'll be heading on over to the Pittsburgh Eagle for our bar night festivities. In addition to the usual bar socializing and friendly times we host, we have added in something a little extra and different this year. The Burgh Bears are proud to bring this years entertainer, William Brown to Pittsburgh. So join us along with William up on the 4th floor for his funny and sometimes raunchy live comedy performance.

Annual Mr. Steel City Bear "Un-Contest": In addition to the picnic, this will be our 6th year of what we like to call the Un-Contest. We like to make things enjoyable during WOOF and take things in different directions then other bear runs. Over the years, bear contests have become the staple of many runs. These runs sometimes involve rather serious title holding competitions to decide the best "Bear" there. We have also done a contest for many years now, however there's a slight twist, especially this year. Our competition truly is nothing more than silly fun and ultimately entertaining for everyone involved (and only slightly embarrassing). Best of all, there's no entry fee and the winner gets a great leather vest title patch that states "Mr. Steel City Bear 2008". Therefore, it's not about who is the best Bear during WOOF, but who is best at bearing with our antics and craziness. Be a part of the good times and sign up to be an 'un-contestant' during the run prior to Saturday night!

Sunday

Sunday's Bears In The Park Picnic: Believe it or not, we've been having our picnic for over a decade now! This year marks the 13th Anniversary we'll be hosting the potluck picnic in the park. Each year the club provides hot dogs, burgers, buns, condiments, ice and sodapop/water, with folks bringing an optional dish/plate for everyone to enjoy. If you're coming in from out of town and are worried about bringing a food item - don't be as we typically have tons of things to share! Each year we also secure an alcohol permit so our guests can bring their choice of beverages to enjoy and share as well. Last year was our biggest turnout yet with the group photo having over 90 people in it! In keeping with the growing size/trend of this event, we're returning to the very much enjoyed Veteran's Memorial Pavillion. This is the largest area in the Park and provides many additional items including: a HUGE capacity, an equipped kitchen, indoor restroom facilities as well as recreational facilities for use too.
