Hello everyone, Gary here, the General Manager for our club. One of the updates to our website here is the addition of profiles for members and execs to talk about themselves a little bit. So here goes. . . I joined the Burgh Bears in the fall of 1999 shortly after having run into an old college friend I had not seen in years. He mentioned the club to me and thought that I might like the guys and the club overall. Even though I live two hours away, the Burgh Bears have become my extended family. With them I have learned and grown as a person along with making new lifelong friendships. Previous to becoming General Manager, I was the Events Manager for the club for a number of years. Now my role is provide leadership and organize the various things we do; whether they are for charity or just pure hanging out. Now approaching 12 years, I have been involved and on the board for five of those years, we have grown and changed in many ways. Hopefully this year will include you as well by attending an event, meeting or just contacting one of us. I’m a 6’7″ 330 lb. bear that is 34 years old. I think I’m a rough-and-tumble, country-bear kind of guy. I’m with a great partner for going on three years now. I like WVU football, whitewater rafting, musical theatre, books, BBQs, movies and all things web and technology.

hello people….it has been 3 years since I have been within this bear club and I must say,I have been very welcomed….I have not really been in any type of social club before aside from basic cub scouts and high school days from years past….however being a deadhead back in the days, I have realized that deadhead mythos and bear mythos both share simular qualities, one is that they are both very kind and accepting, and that there are no molds to fill or aspire to, this club has helped me and is dear to me….if you see me around, being shy and quiet is my nature in groups, however if you tell me a joke and tickle me in my lower belly I will be yer buddy LOL…..hugs
