The party is rain or shine for Burgh Bears Members free of charge. Guests of a member are requested to either provide a dish to share or make a $5 donation towards hosting costs. The club will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, pop and water. All guests are welcome to bring a salad, covered dish or dessert to share. Parking is only on the street but do not to block access for an emergency vehicle to get through. Please bring your own towels if you plan on swimming. Health Safety Reminder: individuals with contagious skin conditions need to refrain from swimming in both the pool and hot tub. We do not know the conditions of everyone’s immune system or overall general health.

Believe it or not, we’ve been having our picnic for 16 years now! This will be our 17th Anniversary of Labor Day Picnic, and we are happy to announce that we will once again be having it at the Veteran’s Pavilion at Schenley Park! This year is all about getting back to the basics of what it is to be a bear: Food, Friends, Fun, and Fur, and we will be having all of these in XL quantities at the picnic this year! First up is our traditional potluck picnic event, where the club supplies the burgers, hot dogs, sodas and basic supplies. Everyone else is invited to bring their favorite dish, their top-secret ingredient crowd pleaser, or something they want to show-off to the rest of the club as side-dishes for the event. Afterwards we will be having various side events going on, such as volleyball, football, or even just some good ole fashioned sunbathing (clothing required-public space guys!) Also this year we will once again be having our Dough-Bear Bake-Off, where you are invited to bring a dessert item to be entered (for a small fee) into the contest, and will be judged by a random panel of guest judges, with the overall winner receiving a Burgh Bear’s One Year Membership! In addition, we will be also have our annual group photo taken at 4pm, which is our primary photo to be used for the next year, as it is a true measure of what we as a club are all about, Friends, Fun, and Fur! The picnic will run from 12pm till 6pm, and there is no charge for Burgh Bears members. Any guests may join us for a cover of $10, which will be waived if they bring a dish for either the potluck or the bake-off. Continue reading

It’s gonna be a hot one at The LINK! Tonight the Burgh Bears are returning and we’re bringing along a special guest. The one and only entertainment funk-alicious perfomer that is Jeff RockCub…all the way from Cincinnati OH! Rockcub has been performing since 1979 both in bands and solo. We’re celebrating the end of summer season with a themed buffet dinner for $10 to start. Reduced cover for Burgh Bear club members and $1 off drinks 10 to Midnight with membership card.
